Uwamaru Amcos

UWAMARU AMCOS is a marketing cooperative society, located in Rungwe district in Mbeya region. UWAMARU collects avocados from both members and non-members and sells them to buyers who are mostly from Kenya. Through this grant, UWAMARU aims to build and strengthen the capacity of its farmer members, including facilitating linkages between farmers and avocado buyers and exporters, training in areas such as good agricultural practices (GAP) to improve avocado yields, and strengthening organizational and management capacity.

ADC has been actively engaging members of AMCOs and non-members to impart them with necessary skills that will help them to improve productivity of their farm produces. ADC conducted project development for UWAMARU AMCOS, conducted trainings on financial management and monitoring and evaluation of the project.

Kanyele Amcos

Kanyele AMCOS is a resilient and remote farmer organization whose purpose is to develop a strong and growing maize value chain to increase members incomes and build stronger and sustainable rural community in Rukwa Region, Kalambo District. ADC role has been to provide advisory services to the grantee on the use of the unexpended funds, monitoring and evaluation of the project and facilitating with the project closeout.

Azimio Mswiswi High Quality Rice Millers

Azimio Mswiswi High Quality Rice Millers (AMHQRM) was formed by grain producers located in Mbarali District Mbeya Region. They were awarded grant to increase member’s incomes through improved agricultural production of rice and collective bulking and marketing of their products. The grantee is awarded grant to facilitate the construction of a warehouse and a milling machine house to increase their processing capacity.

ADC has been playing the role of project development, project management, monitoring and evaluation to achieve the intended goal, advisory and facilitated financial management trainings. ADC has also conducted an Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCAT) and Poverty Probability Index (PPI) assessment for members and the organization.

Laela Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Society

Laela AMCOS is a cooperative society located in Rukwa region. They specialize in maize production and collectively sell their products. Laela AMCOS received a small grant relative to its milestone achievements. Laela AMCOS has been able to properly manage its capacity-building grants. They have been able to meet all their performance indicators including sales revenue, net profit, increase in the number of members, increase in the volume of production, and value of production by the members. Through this grant, they have been able to build an input shop that will be used to serve the member and non-member farmers in Mpui village. Through training such as GAP, members have been able to increase their production per acre. The Board has improved its management capacity and through that, they have been able to influence new members to join the AMCOS. ADC Tanzania has been with this AMCOS throughout its success story.

Siha Kiyeyo is a Cooperative society in the Kilimanjaro region dealing solely with coffee. With more than 500 active members and hundreds of millions in revenue, this cooperative society has been achieving relative success compared to other societies in the region. Recently the Society has received a grant of over TSH 200 million and ADC Tanzania has been assisting them with Resource Mobilization, Financial Monitoring, and Management together with Capacity building.

Profate Investment Ltd

Profate Investment Ltd is a family-owned milk processing company located in Dar Es Salaam. Their dairy products range from yogurt and fresh milk to mozzarella cheese, one of the few local companies processing mozzarella cheese. COVID wreaked havoc on their operations during the pandemic menace. The company received a CFAI grant of over TSH 100 million. With the assistance of ADC Tanzania, Profate overcame the production challenges associated with the pandemic together with internal operational challenges.

Khebhandza Marketing Company is an agro-processing company located in Mbeya. KMC deals with processing cereals and works directly with thousands of farmers in the Southern Highland region through farmers’ groups. With a grant of over TSH 500 million, KMC has significantly increased the tonnage of cereals consolidated from farmers and ADC has been with them throughout their journey.
